I’m Lleucu Myrddin, and I’m the UMCB President for 2019-20. It’s still a bit strange to call myself ‘President’ of an establishment that has been central to my University life, but it definitely makes me very excited for the year ahead.

For those of you that don’t know me yet, I come from Llwyndyrys near Pwllheli and have just graduated from Bangor with a degree in History and Sociology. As a student, UMCB’s events formed a large part of my social life, from the societies to the sports teams and the Cymric’s events. As new students, remember that you’re welcome to join in as much as you wish with UMCB but there’s no pressure to commit to everything- concentrate on the aspects that you enjoy! That said I would encourage that every one of you throw yourselves into the exciting student life that we have in Bangor through UMCB and the Students’ Union and make the most of your time here.

A key part of my job this year is to ensure that Welsh Students’ rights are respected academically, and that your voice is heard by the University. I’m here to help and support you in any and every way possible so please don’t hesitate before coming to see me for a chat. You’ll usually find me in my office in Undeb Bangor in Pontio, my office in JMJ or around the University.

Welcome to Bangor and enjoy every second!

Lleucu Myrddin
